湖北榧属植物,经初步调查仅有巴山榧、香榧两种。香榧,又名玉榧、榧子、柀子、细榧、玉山果,是我国特有的经济树种,著名的干果。树姿优美,树干挺拔,寿命极长,四季常绿,是名贵的庭园绿化树种。炒熟的香榧,酥脆可口,香高味美,营养丰富,畅销中外。香榧又是木本油料,种子可食部分占68％,种仁含油量达50％以上,含蛋白质约10％。油黄色芳香,有止咳、润肺、消痔、驱虫等功效。木材纹理细致,光泽美观,材质坚韧,不裂不翘,是建筑、家俱之良材。 一、香榧栽培历史及产量分布
