“致仕”制度,即我国古代官吏的退休制度。凡元勋宿将以礼“致仕”者,一般都能得到优厚待遇。这是封建朝廷用以笼络人心,并促进人事更迭的重要手段。各封建王朝对以礼“致仕”官员的待遇规定大概有以下几点: 一、升秩加衔唐代以前,皇帝对“致仕”的功臣,常常加授官衔,以提高其社会地位,但没有形成制度。宋代规定文武官“致仕”者,可晋升一等,有的经皇帝特准,可以加升几级。对官衔很高的,则晋爵封王。这种加转的官衔,是一种只表示官员地位和俸禄的虚衔,宋代叫“寄禄官”,有的朝代则称为“散官”。
