新加坡的“敦煌剧坊”,是以演出粤剧为主的业余戏曲团体,它的名字使我们联想到我国敦煌莫高窟中那些翩翩起舞的飞天壁画和栩栩如生的彩塑。今年6月,我应邀参加他们主办的“狮城地方戏曲展”,才体会到他们是把我国的敦煌艺术,视为东方艺术最高成就的表现,所以,以此命名,表示这个戏曲艺术团体也要朝着这个东方艺术之瑰宝——敦煌壁画精美生动的艺术境界去追求,使华族的戏曲文化得到更加广阔的开拓。新加坡有粤剧、琼剧、闽剧、梨园戏等地方戏曲
Singapore’s “Dunhuang Theater” is an amateur drama group mainly performing Cantonese opera. Its name reminds us of the flying fian-qiao frescoes and lifelike paintings in Mogao Grottoes of Dunhuang in China. In June this year, I was invited to participate in the “Local Opera Exhibition at Lion City” hosted by them and realized that they regarded the performance of Dunhuang art in our country as the highest achievement of oriental art. Therefore, this name means that the opera arts group Towards this treasure of oriental art - Dunhuang murals exquisite and vivid artistic realm to pursue, so that the Chinese opera culture to be more broadly open up.
