In the early 1980s, just after the reform and opening up began, Northwestern University invited a foreign expert to speak about management. Unexpectedly, this foreign scholar neither speaks Taylor, nor speaks about Mayo or Simon, but speaks about Chinese history and culture. The first lecture was actually “The Application of ”Sun Tzu’s Art of War“ in Japan’s Contemporary Management and Management. Afterwards, the theme of ”Ancient Chinese Management Thought“ was used to introduce a wealth of management wisdom and management experience in ancient Chinese history. The response to this incident was extremely strong. For those who engage in the study of ancient Chinese history, the shock is particularly large, and it is impossible for us to profoundly reflect on why foreigners can develop so many valuable things from Chinese history, but we ourselves turn a blind eye. To this end, we invite special attention to history. Professor Huang Liuzhu wrote a series of articles on ”History and Entrepreneurs Dialogue." From this issue they will continue to meet with you and may give you some inspiration. This column appears as a dialogue. The following is a dialogue between entrepreneurs (abbreviation) and historians (abbreviated as history).
