作为擅长人物画的画家,杨晓阳的早期作品取西画之长,以巨幅壁画闻名,其画风严谨深刻、气势恢宏。在出访过40多个国家,几乎遍赏西方各个时期各个流派的名作之后,他对中国画的艺术高度的认识有了新的升华,在艺术上,他勇于打破“极致”,超越过去,转型创新,其画作疏朗简约,各臻其妙,苍莽古朴,笔墨淋漓,在传达生命律动的同时,彰显其深厚的文化底蕴和高超的笔墨技巧。
