通过介绍藏中南日喀则地区南木林县的地质背景、地貌环境、气候条件和水文地质工程地质条件对该地区的主要地质灾害进行分析。南木林县地处欧亚大陆与印度大陆的缝合带—雅鲁藏布断裂之北侧、冈底斯—念青唐古拉板片南缘的冈底斯陆缘火山—岩浆弧地带,以SN向挤压和EW向扩张作用的断裂构造,对区内地形地貌的形成影响较大,同时,破碎的岩石也为区内泥石流灾害的发育提供了充足的物质来源;特殊的地理位置及气候条件、人为因素为土地沙漠化的形成提供了必要条件。
