The Symposium on China and South Asia was held in Kunming from September 23 to February 24, 2003. More than 120 scholars from all walks of life in South Asia attended the symposium and submitted over 50 papers. Scholars have heatedly discussed the political and economic relations between China and South Asian countries and the sub-regional cooperation between South Asia and Yunnan.
