在国民经济“调整、巩固、充实、提高”八字方针指导下,为切实加强地质科学研究,集中力量解决重点项目中的重大科技问题,原地质部决定将陕西、甘肃、宁夏、青海、新疆五省(区)地质局的地质研究所合并,于1962年10月在西安成立了地质部西北地质科学研究所。1982年5月更名为地质矿产部西安地质矿产研究所。
With the guidance of the eight-character principle of “readjustment, consolidation, enrichment and improvement” of the national economy, in order to effectively strengthen the geological scientific research and concentrate on resolving major scientific and technological issues in key projects, the former Ministry of Geology decided to replace the five major projects in Shaanxi, Gansu, Ningxia, Qinghai and Xinjiang Geological Institute of the provincial (regional) Bureau of the merger, in October 1962 in Xi’an, the establishment of the Department of Geology Northwest Institute of Geological Sciences. May 1982 changed its name to the Department of Geology and Mineral Resources Xi’an Institute of Geology and Mineral Resources.
