云南植胶垦区,地处热带边缘,纬度北,海拔高,植胶热量不足,低温寒害是必然的。植胶二十四年来,共出现八次冷冬。给橡胶生产造成了灾害性损失。尤以1973/74年冬、1975/76年冬出现两次特大冷冬,橡胶损失更为严重。据普查结果1973/74年冬各种不同树龄胶树受害普遍率为66.4—79.5%;1975/76年冬为72.5—79.1%,并在植胶地带划分为中寒害区的阴坡、重寒害区的半阴坡及阴坡,目前尚没有一个无性系种植后不遭受寒害能够完全站得住脚。今后还需不断扩大植胶面积。现推广使用的品系已远远不能适应生产发展的需要。因此培育抗寒高产品系便成为迫切需要解决的问题。要在短时期内推荐抗寒性较强、产量又高的品系给生产使用,这是当务之急。为此,我们在历年培
