On August 3, 2016, China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) released the 38th Statistical Report on Internet Development in China in Beijing. The Report shows that as of June 2016, the number of Internet users in China reached 710 million with the Internet penetration rate reaching 51.7%, surpassing the global average of 3.1%. The Report shows that as of June 2016, the number of mobile Internet users in China reached 656 million. The proportion of Internet users who use mobile phones to access the Internet increased from 90.1% at the end of 2015 to 92.5%
