Forbes Enterprise launched the Chinese Family Business Survey for the first time, showing that Chinese listed family-owned companies have made far more money-making ability and growth rate in the past three years than listed state-owned enterprises. However, the private-owned enterprises in China have just thrived in the hands of the first generation of entrepreneurs, far from achieving “three generations of wealth” and “Everlasting family businesses.” Statistics show that as of the end of June this year, a total of 305 listed companies in Shanghai and Shenzhen are family-owned businesses, accounting for 36.2% of the total number of privately-run listed companies. The total market capitalization of listed family-owned enterprises is 1,465.7 billion yuan, accounting for about 7% of the total market capitalization of Shanghai-Shenzhen listed companies.
