下滑角指示仪的使命,是给直升机驾驶员提供准确的进场航迹,包括飞机进场的航向和下滑的角度,引导飞机安全降落到起降平台上着落圈内的格栅内。因此,要求这种仪器所发出的光束指示信号,不受舰船在海洋航行时的随机运动量的干扰。所以该仪器的灯座一定要安装在能克服摇摆和高海情下升沉运动影响的稳定平台上。
