The author theory is not just an aesthetic issue that has an important influence in the history of film theory, but also a business strategy of great significance in the history of the movie industry. Its commercial nature dates back to the French new wave and author strategy period of the late 1950s. Especially after the incorporation of the industrial capital of the New Hollywood movie, the author theory has become a commonly used and effective marketing tool, and the author’s identity has become the symbolic capital of the art field.
