《中国农业通史》要在纵横两个侧面上广泛涉猎,要在总结历史的经验教训和准确定位传统农业的发展水平上下功夫,方能确保这部跨世纪工程的学术水平。因此,应切实注意农业史与社会史之间的阶段性关系、农业经济发展水平与朝代之间的关系、农业经济发展与时代发展之间的关系、农业经济与传统文化之间的关系。天地人诸要素与农作物之间的关系、农业生产关系诸要素发展演变,以及农史研究为现代农业建设服务等问题的深入研究和适当论述。使之成为一部具有全面性、综合性和借鉴性的巨著。 The general history of agriculture in China should be extensively studied on two sides of the vertical and horizontal. We must make efforts to sum up the experience and lessons of history and accurately define the level of development of traditional agriculture so as to ensure the academic standard of this cross-century project. Therefore, we should pay due attention to the relationship between agricultural history and social history, the relationship between the level of agricultural economic development and the dynasty, the relationship between agricultural economic development and the development of the times, and the relationship between agricultural economy and traditional culture.
