概念隐喻认为隐喻不仅是一种语言现象,更是一种思维方式和认知方式,本文旨在探讨隐喻及大学英语教学的关系。通过对隐喻的定义、特征、理解的方式及其在教学中运用的分析,提出在英语教学中隐喻不能只在语言层面进行,要深刻了解中西文化的差异,准确运用隐喻,并利用隐喻机制进行词汇教学,培养学生英语隐喻的想象力和创造力,以达到提高教学效果之目的。
Conceptual metaphor holds that metaphor is not only a linguistic phenomenon but also a way of thinking and cognition. This paper aims to explore the relationship between metaphor and college English teaching. Through the analysis of metaphor’s definition, characteristics, comprehension and its application in teaching, it is suggested that metaphor can not be carried out only in the language level in English teaching. It is necessary to understand the differences between Chinese and Western cultures, to use metaphors accurately and to use metaphorical mechanisms Vocabulary teaching, cultivate students’ imagination and creativity in English metaphor, in order to achieve the purpose of improving teaching effectiveness.
