香港,作为国际金融中心,闻名遐迩;但是,进入香港,首先跳入眼帘的,不是港币、美金,而是报纸、杂志、电视、图书、电脑、传真以及港人称为传播媒介的资讯世界。早在1841年,《香港钞报》即已面世,那是中国最早的一种报纸;1928年,香港广播电台就开始播音,同年印行《伴侣》半月刊;1957年,电视在不少港人家里声形毕现;香港的文字传媒和电子传媒几近与欧美同步发展,如今在诸多方面已赶超欧美,豁然走在世界前头。在这片不足1100平方公里的土地上,拥有60多种报纸,平均每4人每天购买1份报;有600多种期刊,每万人阅读1种而不是1份周刊或月刊;有2家广播公司,94%的港人仍保留收听广播的习惯,人均每天收听时
Hong Kong is famous as an international financial center. However, it is not Hong Kong dollars and U.S. dollars that come into Hong Kong but newspapers, magazines, television, books, computers, faxes and the information world the Hong Kong people call the mass media.
