未名诗歌奖起源于北京大学,新诗和校园、和高校学子,有着不解之缘。在新诗历史上,高校学生的诗歌写作不仅有着很长的传统,而且占有特殊的地位。许多学生写作者由此走向诗坛,很多重大的诗歌现象也都和校园紧密相联。同时,高校写作又不断给新诗带来变革和新质,成为新诗发展的原动力之一。从2011年第七届起,“未名诗歌奖”改为两年一届,面向全球在校大学生、研究生中的汉语新诗写作者,今年的第十届未名
