Since his first successful nephrectomy in 1869, Simon has had a wealth of experience and today open nephrectomy has become a minimally dangerous standard. After a large-scale experiment with pigs, Clayman performed the first human transperitoneal laparoscopic nephrectomy in June 1990. Mannheim Hospital in 1992, the implementation of Germany’s first transperitoneal laparoscopic nephrectomy in December the same year, the peritoneal
