Infectious salmon anemia virus (ISAV), as a pathogen that is detrimental to salmon trout, causes great economic losses to the world’s salmon farming industry. In this study, according to the method recommended by the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), ISAV tests were conducted on chilled Atlantic salmon imported via Shenzhen Port in 2014. Nine Norwegian imported chilled Atlantic salmon were detected as suspected ISAV positive. However, all 9 batches of samples were negative for ISAV virus isolation. Based on the sequence analysis of Hemagglutinin esterase (HE) gene, all 9 isolates belonged to HPR0ISAV, which shared 98.3% -100.0% homology with ISAV isolates from Norway. In this study, nine batches of HPR0ISAV positive were detected from 491 chilled Atlantic salmon, the positive detection rate was 1.8%. Therefore, the quarantine inspection of Norway imported chilled Atlantic salmon should be strengthened to prevent HPR0ISAV from entering our country.
