中国最早的博物馆作为文化舶来品,出现在山东半岛沿海城市,随基督教传教士传入我国。设立于蓬莱的登州文会馆就是由美国传教士狄考文创建,并成为我国第一所近现代高等院校,也是我国最早开设与博物馆课程内容相关的高等院校。中文“博物馆”一词,源自希腊文Mouseion,意思是缪斯的神殿。世界上公认最早的博物馆出现于公元前3世纪,为托勒密·索托受希腊文化的影响,
