机器人是自动执行工作的机器装置,它既可以接受人类指挥,又可以运行预先编排的程序,也可以根据以人工智能技术制定的原则来自主行动,当下的机器人还有自我学习的功能。它的任务是协助或取代人类的工作,例如生产业、建筑业,或是危险的工作。联合国标准化组织采纳了美国机器人协会给机器人下的定义:“一种可编程和多功能的操作机;或是为了执行不同的任务而具有可用电脑改变和可编程动作的专门系统。”
A robot is a machine that performs its work automatically. It can either accept human commands, run pre-programmed programs, act autonomously based on the principles established by artificial intelligence techniques, and present-day robots have the ability to learn. Its mission is to assist or replace human work, such as manufacturing, construction, or dangerous work. The United Nations Organization for Standardization adopted the definition of robots by the American Robot Association: “A programmable and versatile operator; or a dedicated system with computer changes and programmable actions for performing different tasks.” "
