今年是新中国接受外国留学生六十周年,六十年来我们的汉语国际推广事业走过了不寻常的历程。跨入新世纪以后,世界范围内“汉语热”持续升温,据中国国家汉办主任、孔子学院总部总干事许琳8月在沈阳举行的第十届国际汉语教学研讨会上透露,目前全球学习汉语的人数已超过4000万,全世界共有94个国家和地区开设了300多所孔子学院和300多所孔子课堂。孔子学院和孔子课堂已成为全世界人们学习汉语的重要场所。
