“白马湖”是语文教师心中的一块圣地,一个“虽不能至而心向往之”的梦想,更是一种精神象征。20世纪20年代初,白马湖春晖园汇集了一大批大师级文化名人,他们在此执鞭任教,传道解惑,弦歌不辍,引得当时社会各界知名人士慕名而来观光考察、筑屋小住。一时间,这里名家荟萃,雅士云集,湖山增色,风物生辉,掀起层层文化波澜。这里的自然环境、人文气氛,铸就了白马湖学人作品的冲淡自然和清新隽永。无论是朱自清、夏丐尊的文章还是丰子恺的画,都表现出一种精神、一种气质和一种独特的文化价值。
