Objective: To investigate the relationship between carotid artery middle thickness (IMT) and its related risk factors in the elderly patients and to provide clinical reference for the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases in the elderly. Methods: According to the age of 139 elderly patients were included in the analysis, with blood glucose, blood pressure, dyslipidemia in 123 cases as the observation group, no blood glucose, blood pressure, dyslipidemia in 16 cases as control group, respectively, carotid ultrasound, Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, glycosylated hemoglobin and lipids and other biochemical indicators, combined with clinical data analysis. Results: There was an exception of IMT thickened in the elderly patients, smoking history, dyslipidemia, abnormal glucose regulation, vascular inflammation and IMT thickening in the same age group, no statistics were found in each group There were no significant differences in the occurrence and development of IMT, age, sex, smoking history, blood glucose, blood pressure control and dyslipidemia between the two groups. Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that age, smoking history and Course of disease as a risk factor (OR 0.500 ~ 1.196). Conclusion: The elderly patients are varying degrees of IMT thickened, of which aging is the most important risk factor, but for elderly patients with metabolic disorders of blood glucose, blood pressure, blood lipids should also pay attention to a variety of risk factors Screening and intervention, especially in the early stage of disease development may delay the progression of the lesion and reduce cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events have some significance, but the safety of its medication in this type of patients is particularly important.
