评价近代中国的人物和事件不宜因范式、标准的单一而削足适履,根本方法还是依据史实作客观评析。洪秀全是一个有严重缺陷的农民领袖,亦不足以划入向西方寻求真理的先进中国人行列。《天朝田亩制度》和《资政新篇》不仅有重大缺陷,而且太平天国领袖并未视其为纲领。缺乏符合历史潮流的思想理论指导的农民运动和农民战争不可能是推动社会历史前进的动力。
