GlyoxalaseⅠ (GLOI) typing was performed on 211 blood donors in Wuhan using starch / agarose gel electrophoresis.The distribution of the three common phenotypes was GLOI 1-1 type 7 cases (3.32 %), 2-1 type 52 cases (24.64%), 2-2 type 152 cases (72.04%) .Gene frequency GLOI ~ 1 = 0.1564, GLOI ~ 2 = 0.8436. The recognition ability (DP value) was 0.4192. Human erythrocytes GLOI (Glyoxalase I) has a genetic polymorphism that is controlled by GLOI ~ 1 and GLOI ~ 2, a pair of dominant alleles on human chromosome 6
