This article is the legacy of Professor Liu Fo-ding, Institute of Economics, Nankai University. Professor Liu has worked hard for many years in the field of economic history and has contributed to the development of economic history. This article is published in order to promote the academic exchanges between Chinese and foreign economic scholars and rely on Professor Liu’s grief.
