Toshiba Japan and Sun Microsystems signed an agreement. Under the agreement, Toshiba will sell and support the Solaris operating environment as a strategic enterprise solution. This solution is suitable for all types of servers based on Intel processors, which are low-cost, highly scalable and highly reliable systems. By signing this agreement, Toshiba can use Sun’s highly scalable, highly reliable operating system and take full advantage of Intel’s processors. Toshiba Corp. has also become a member of Sun’s Solaris Systems Partner Business Complex. Sun released new disk drives and new expansion products for the A1000 and D1000 arrays. These new expansion products can provide small table area and high scalability to meet the needs of business growth.
