Experiments have shown that lead and cadmium have embryonic toxicity to Wistar rats, lead has teratogenic effects, and damage to fetal rat vascular development. The embryotoxicity of the lead and cadmium injection group was lower than that of the lead and cadmium injection group. The fetal death rate and teratogenic rate were reduced, and the damage to the vascular development was also slight. Lead and cadmium have damage to the ovaries of rats and pregnant rats and can cause bleeding and effusion in the ovaries. Ovarian lesions were negatively correlated with the rate of living fetus and positively correlated with fetal death rate. The correlation coefficient was significant. These results suggest that the ovaries of rats are more sensitive to lead and cadmium, and thus the ovary of rats may be considered as one of the target organs of lead and cadmium. The mechanism of the combined action of lead and cadmium is discussed in this paper.
