随着生物农药的不断发展,许多昆虫也逐步加入到实验动物行列中,甜菜夜蛾在农业及生命科学相关领域的研究中作为科研材料发挥着重要的作用。利用合理的人工配方饲料,通过室内长期的继代饲养繁育,确定了甜菜夜蛾生活史中各个阶段温度、湿度和光照等技术参数,掌握了甜菜夜蛾室内人工饲养管理的关键技术,从而建立了适宜甜菜夜蛾生长发育以及连续传代繁育的环境设施条件和技术方法。目前,甜菜夜蛾已经在室内连续传代超过100代,其产卵率、孵化率、幼虫成活率、化蛹率和蛹质量以及成虫羽化率等都一直处于稳定状态,种群未出现退化现象。
