Japan Geological Survey recently purchased the trend of electronic computers, growing up. In the past, many people regarded geology as a science that is not related to electronic computers. Condensation kettle, backpack, take 鎯 head, over the mountain more cen Looking for stones is the image of geological work. To this end, this article will introduce the current status of the use of electronic computers in the field of geology, a brief account of its development trend. With the popularization of electronic computers, mathematical methods have been introduced in the field of geology and their development has been phenomenal. It can be divided into two stages of development: One is the statistical treatment of the data in geology. The purpose of this stage of development is to objectify and improve the main tasks in geology, such as recording and classification. Second: the use of computer simulation of geological phenomena. Introduce mathematical methods in geology to create new fields of research. This is a positive development stage of utilization. This new field of research is called Mathematical Geology (a magazine published in 1969). Its history is short, the future development can be expected. Using geophysical (ie, physical-mathematical) methods to study parts of the Earth’s surface (from the surface to the depths of several kilometers), the discipline dealing with the phenomenon of geology, is called Geophysical Prospecting. Is a branch of generalized geology whose purpose is to explain geological phenomena. The use of computers in geophysical prospecting is normalizing. This article will also use the “data flow” outlined the application of electronic computers, and give some examples. Finally, computer-centric examples of modern geological surveys are presented, such as geological survey vessels and aeromagnetic exploration.
