在阐述“三个代表”思想时,江泽民同志有三种提法,第一种是:“只要我们始终成为中国先进社会生产力发展的要求,中国先进文化的前进方向,中国最广大人民的根本利益的忠实代表,我们党就能永远立于不败之地,永远得到全国人民的衷心拥护并带领人民不断前进。”第二种是,我们党“在革命、建设、改革的各个历史时期,总是代表着中国先进社会生产力的发展要求,代表着中国先进文化的前进方向,代表着广大人民的根本利益”。第三种提法是:“始终代表中国先进生产力的发展要求、中国先进文化的前进方向、中国最广大人民的根本利益,是我们党的立党之本、执政之基、力量之源。”
