恩斯特·贡布里希(Ernst Hans Josef Gombrich,1909—2001)曾这样给艺术下过定义:‘实际上没有艺术这种东西,“艺术”这个词在不同的时期指称不同的东西。只要一件事情做得无比美好,我们由于单纯欣赏他的做法几乎忘记问一问他的意图,这时我们就会谈到艺术’。这样说来艺术是直接直射人生心灵的,关怀人的生死悲愁。杜尚正是这样一位自由通行于艺术与生活之间的人。
Ernst Hans Josef Gombrich (1909-2001) defined art in such a way that ’there is virtually no art,’ the word ’art’ refers to something different at different times . As long as one thing is done very well, we almost forgot to ask his intentions simply by admiring him, then we will talk about art. In this sense, art is direct and direct attention to the life and soul, caring for people’s life and death and sadness. Duchamp is just such a free passage between art and life.
