In this article, we will discuss the origin and emerging issues of organizational practices and organizational capabilities. First of all, we believe that the key antecedents and mechanism issues elaborated by existing practices and capabilities literature have theoretical and endogenous related coherence. Specifically, we explained the empirical and behavioral foundations of the literature on organizational practices and organizational capabilities, and the existing literature’s emphasis on experience, repetition, and observation as the key antecedents and mechanisms of routines and capabilities. Based on this discussion, we have highlighted several endogenous related issues, namely: 1 Origin and causality problems; 2 Extreme issues; 3 Intentional issues; 4 New knowledge issues; 5 Environmental issues. We have introduced the “poverty of stimulus” and discussed how an internalist or rationalist based method of choice can provide a more (albeit preliminary) understanding of organizational behavior and organization.
