当前我国石油地质工作面临着一项光荣而艰巨的任务,就是要尽快地实现英明领袖华主席提出的创建十来个大庆的宏伟目标,为建设四个现代化的社会主义祖国提供更多的能源,这就要求我们迅速开辟更广泛的找油找气领域,不仅要在陆地上找油,而且要在海上和大陆架以及陆上海相碳酸盐地层中开展石油普查勘探工作。这对古生物研究工作提出了一系列的新任务、新课题,我们一方面要努力提高已有门类的研究水平,同时还要积极开展和加强海相地层中的古生物门类及古生态的研究,以便更好地为找油服务。为此,我们对当前古生物学研究提出下列一些不成熟的看法:
