Founded in 1904, the Benfica team is located in the Belem region of Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, where rich people live and football was originally developed and popularized in Portugal. Rodriguez and some of his nobility-born friends founded the club, using red and white as the team’s color, representing excitement and passion; using a flying eagle as a club logo, symbolizing the club Soaring. Two years later, Alvalade set up another club in Lisbon, a competitive club, whose desire at the time was to shape the team into a European top team, and in fact he did.
