In July 1982, over a hundred physicists gathered together to celebrate the 80th birthday of Mr. Zhao Zhongyao as old classmates, old colleagues and students respectively. Professor Zhou Peiyuan said in his letter that Mr. Zhao is “the originator of nuclear physics in China.” This is a proper assessment of Mr. Zhao’s contribution to the development of nuclear physics in our country over the past decades.
