The winner of the 2005 Camount Award is the 82-year-old actress, Liajia Fandón de Tras, of Brazil. The Kammons Award is the most important prize in Portuguese literature. Created in 1988 by the Portuguese government and the Brazilian government, the prize aims to close the cultural ties between Portuguese-speaking countries and enrich Portuguese-language literature and cultural wealth. The prize is reviewed annually and has historically been assessed by the Portuguese Ministry of Culture through its subordinate Office of Foreign Cultural Relations for a prize of 100,000 euros. The first winner of the Kammus Prize was made in Portugal
