鉴真东渡对日本文化产生的巨大影响,佛教方面的事迹自不待言,涉及建筑、美术、工艺、书法、医学等领域,甚至连传播豆腐、香木、砂糖、纳豆、茶道、酱菜之类也算在鉴真的功劳簿上。虽然后世的传闻不可全盘视作信史,但从一个侧面佐证鉴真在日本影响的广泛和持久。著名的鉴真研究权威安藤更生博士说过:“日本人直到今天,依然在很多方面沐浴着鉴真和上的恩惠。”~①
