Jiangsu Province established the acute flaccid paralysis (AFP) case monitoring system in 1991. Since 1993, the AFP cases reported in the province have been input into the computer according to the unified case questionnaire and the computerized management has been achieved. Computer data shows that 946 AFP cases were reported in the province from 1993 to 1997, cases were paralyzed 60 days after follow-up, and the follow-up form was completed.
