甜菜黄化病毒属(Closterovirus)在甜菜黄化病毒属中,有以蚜虫半持久性传播的、直径约12nm、长度超过1μm的曲线状病毒;白三叶草、红三叶草、豌豆、蚕豆上有豆蚜传播的紫苜蓿黄萎病毒;胡萝卜上有胡萝卜蚜传播的、新命名的胡萝卜黄叶病毒,还有从牛蘩缕和牛蒡中查到估计属于该属的二种病毒。同时在菠菜和畜用甜菜中,分离出日本初次发现的甜菜黄化病毒.除此之外,还研究了荷兰石竹坏死斑驳病毒、柑桔衰退病毒,小麦黄叶病毒的各种性质,并对感染各种病毒的寄主组织进行超薄切片电镜观察J 发现这些病毒会引起筛管严重坏死,病毒质粒局限于筛管部。还发现该属的苹果褪
