当透平装置运转在某一转速,其外力或自身激励的频率与转子、轴承、弹性支承系统的响应频率趋向一致时(同步或谐振),这叫共振,当这个共振又出现在运转速度范围内时,这个速度就称作临界速度.例举一些简单的数字,可能有助于我们了解现代涡轮机中的一些变量范围.速度是在N×10~4(转/分)范围,转子重量有好几吨,轴承间距是115—190英寸,轴承(直径)是4—8英寸并有多种设计型式.
