With the development of sensitive anti-HCV detection methods, it has been confirmed that both HBV and HCV can be infected at the same time, which helps to clarify some phenomena that occur in the natural course of patients with HBsAg-positive chronic liver disease. Exacerbation of HBsAg-positive chronic liver disease is not only associated with spontaneous reactivation and overlapping HDV infections, but may also be associated with overlapping HCV infections. In this study, HBV DNA and HCV RNA were detected by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and HBV and HCV markers were detected by standard serological methods. The prospective case-control study was conducted to evaluate the effect of HBV infection on anti-HCV-positive chronic liver disease. The subjects were 57 anti-HCV positive patients, according to
