海外华侨迫切要求了解祖国情况,中美建交后,一些华侨和中国血统美籍华人来信向电视台索取电视节目。为此,中央电视台和美国宏声传播事业公司于1980年6月签订了为期三年的合作协议,决定在美国建立《中国之声》有线电视广播,专门放映我中央电视台的节目。时间在每星期六晚上8时至9时,这个节目已于去年10月4日晚在纽约有线电视
Overseas Chinese desperately needed to understand the situation in their homeland. After the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the United States, some overseas Chinese and Chinese descent ethnic Chinese from China sent letters to television stations to obtain television programs. To this end, CCTV signed a three-year cooperation agreement with U.S. Grand Dissemination Corporation in June 1980 and decided to establish “Voice of China” cable television broadcasting in the United States to screen the programs on CCTV exclusively.
