黄河是中华民族的母亲河。然而由于水少沙多，水沙不平衡，加上黄土高原严重的水土流失，造成每年１６亿t的泥沙进入河道，其中４亿t在黄河下游强烈堆积，使河床不断淤积抬高，成为地上悬河。为解决黄河的泥沙问题，长期以来，特别是新中国成立以来，几代治黄工作者进行了不懈?
The Yellow River is the mother river of the Chinese nation. However, due to the lack of water and sand, imbalance of water and sediment, and severe soil and water loss in the Loess Plateau, 1.6 billion tons of sediment are brought into the river every year, 400 million tons of which are strongly accumulated in the lower reaches of the Yellow River, resulting in siltation and elevation of the riverbed Hanging on the river.
