党怀英的书法既追求复古风格,他又力求创新。党怀英书法个性的形成,这与他交往的圈子有着密切联系。究其原因,一方面由于他的启蒙老师是刘瞻,所以他接受的是宋代教育,从而有利于他更多的接触篆书,这促使他打下了良好的文学基础;另一方面他之所以篆书较多,也离不开他对篆书的喜好。我们研究党怀英的书法风格,这对了解宋和金时代的社会历史文化有了更进一步的突破。通过对党怀英的生平简介、交往圈以及书法创作方面的意义,都应当对我们有所启发,这些能使我们加深对古代社会和古人的认识。
