Spinal size measurements are important in assessing spinal canal enlargement due to stenosis or mass invasion. A variety of measurement techniques, due to conventional X-ray measurements affected by many factors, so CT is the ideal technology. The authors used CT to measure the diameter of the vertebral canal in 105 patients and determined the mean value of spinal canal diameter and Jones-Thomson (JT) coefficients. Of the 105 adults, 53 were women, aged 20 to 60 years, with an average of 39.2 years. 54 cases (51.4%) had no lumbar symptoms asymptomatic group, and 51 cases (48.6%) had lumbar symptoms as symptomatic group.
