According to Silvia Fagnani, executive chairman of Brazil’s Plant Protection Products Industry Association (Sindiveg), the agrochemical sector in the country will see a slight decline of 2% -3% in revenue in 2017. Fagnani said the drop in revenue was in line with 2015, when national income from agriculture fell 1% from a year earlier. Fagnani pointed out that the downturn in 2016 was an adjustment characterized by changes in the commodity standards for sale, “the decline in the sales of older products and the increase in the amount of high-end products used to control pests and diseases. Agents and herbicides in new products, while the overall sales volume has not dropped significantly, it is very balanced. ”
