林业统计指标是指一定林业经济现象总体某种特征的数量概念或具体数值。由于林业经济现象是由多层次多系统现象所组成的复杂总体,为了能全面、系统地反映这一复杂总体的数量状况,就要使用一系列统计指标组成多层次、多系统的统计指标群体或体系。设置这样一个科学的统计指标体系是一项复杂的系统工程,它既要考虑到林业经济活动的内在要求,又要涉及到统计科学本身发展的趋势和国民经济活动的客观需要等诸多因素。这些社会经济因素的变化必然要求林业统计指标体系作出相应的调整或重新构造,以适应其自身发展的需要和外界社会经济变化的客观要求。
The index of forestry statistics refers to the quantitative concept or specific value of certain characteristics of a certain forestry economic phenomenon. As the phenomenon of forestry economy is a complex population composed of multi-level and multi-system phenomena, in order to reflect the quantity status of this complex population comprehensively and systematically, a series of statistical indicators should be used to form a multi-level and multi-system statistical indicator group or system. To set such a scientific statistical index system is a complicated systematic project, which not only takes into account the inherent requirements of forestry economic activities, but also involves the development of statistical science itself and the objective needs of national economic activities and many other factors. These changes in socio-economic factors will inevitably require that the index system of forestry statistics be adjusted or reconstructed correspondingly to meet the needs of its own development and the objective requirements of social and economic changes in the outside world.
