[China news agency, Beijing, China] On February 2, the prime ministers of China and Germany held talks in the Great Hall of the People and jointly met with reporters. On the evening of the welcome banquet, the wine the Chinese used to treat German dignitaries was Chardonnay Chateau Chang Chau and the Changyu Centennial Wine Cellar. On February 8, Canadian Chancellor Stephen Harper visited China. At the banquet in the Great Hall of the People, Changyu Aiba Fort Wineries’ Chardonnay White and Changyu’s 100-year wine cellar were all red. The heads of state of major countries visit China one after another, which indicates that this year is China’s international diplomatic year. However, in the important diplomatic occasion of state banquet, which shows the country’s image and culture, this seemingly ordinary wine contains the story of cultural exchanges between countries.
